Adoption
Q. I am from the Philippines; can I adopt a child here?
A. The first thing to do is to contact your local SWD (Social Welfare Department). From there you will be able to find out all the information you need to know about adopting a child here. Please don’t contact us directly as we cannot take any direct enquiries; all our babies are adopted through the formal SWD application process.
Q. I am from oversees, can I adopt a child from the Philippines?
A. Children from the Philippines are often adopted by overseas families but the application process is long and detailed. Some countries have a reciprocal adoption agreement, which makes the process a little easier but usually you are talking at least 2 years from the point of application. The first thing to do is contact the overseas adoption board in your own country as it is from there you will start the application process.
Q. Can I adopt a child from Ministries Without Borders Philippines?
A. It is not possible for you to adopt a child directly from us as, by law, all our adoptions have to be processed through the formal adoption lines i.e. the SWD and the International Adoption Agency. You will need to make those agencies your first port of call for all enquiries.
Volunteering
Q. Can I volunteer with Ministries Without Borders?
A. We would love to hear from you if you would like to volunteer either short or long-term with us. We are unable to accept every application as it will depend on our needs at any given time. Please get in touch if you would like to find out more about the opportunities available.
