Visit in the garbage dump village

Close to the center i Cavite there is a big garbage dump where many families have found a living by sorting out garbage that can be sold. By washing and packing 1 kg of plastic bags they can earn 8 pesos (about 0,2 USD). The stench is heavy, and in the rainy periods they walk in garbage infested mud.  About 90 of the children living there receives school supplies from MWBPI. Without this help the families would not be able to send their children to school. We are planning to increase the aid to the hard working people in the village.

Behind the commercial screen: The entrance of the house where these two girls are growing up on the garbage dump is decorated with a big shampoo ad. The contrast between the superficial need for a glamorous hairstyle and the real needs of these children are staggering. Still they are generous with what they have: This time it is a big smile to the photographer.

Thanks to America, and only thanks to America, the world has enjoyed these past decades an age of hitherto unimagined freedom and opportunity.
